Version 1.0 Released April 2, 2004!
Zire71CamJPG is an HB++ Package designed for use on the Zire71 device
with its built in camera. ZireCamJPG provides Zire71 camera
integration functions for your application, including the ability to
capture photos in your application and save them to JPG files, as well
as display existing JPG files.
Zire71CamJPG employs PACE Native Object (PNO, formerly called Armlet)
functions for extremely fast JPG encoding and decoding.
JPG images files stored as binary resources, or as JPG streamed files in
the Palm's main memory (RAM), and standard JPG files on VFS expansion
cards are supported. They are passed to the encoding and decoding
functions as a standard HB++ stream object.
JPG images are captured and encoded into a JPG file at either 640x480,
320x240, or 160x120 high density 16 bit colour mode, as these are the
photo sizes supported by the Zire71 camera. The camera presents a live
image preview in either 160x120 or 320x240 mode, according to your
specification.
JPG images taken from the camera or from other sources are decoded to
the dimensions and density (standard or high density) that you specify,
and copied into a bitmap object that you define in your application.
Once the image has been decoded into the bitmap, you can display and
maniuplate that bitmap using the standard HB++ methods.
A modified version of the HB++ CameraZire71 sample application is
provided, demonstrating how to use the Zire71CamJPG package to capture
and display JPG photos. It also demonstrates how you can decode a JPG
image to an output bitmap larger than the display, and scroll around the
image using pen control.
